COMPANY HISTORY

In 1929 Paul D. Bemis, a consulting engineer, opened an office in Hartford. Since that time, several distinguished engineers have served as partners in the firm, including Cassius W. Freeman, Vincent J. Sipala and P. Dana Bemis, all of whom are now retired.

Today, Anca and Lucian Dragulski carry on the tradition of competence and quality service. We strive to achieve the most practical and sustainable solutions with an emphasis on designing healthy and productive indoor environments while preserving the outdoors, using creative, appropriate and cost effective solutions.

STATEMENT

Bemis Associates, a WBE certified company, located in Farmington, Connecticut, specializes in engineering design of Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for buildings.  The philosophy by which the firm has always operated is one that emphasizes a close working relationship and personal services to the architect/client.

For this reason, the firm has remained relatively small so that the principals are directly involved in every project from the initial client contact right through the design phase and contract administration.

Our reputation throughout the industry has resulted in continuous repeat business from our existing clients as well as new ones.

These projects range in scope from minor improvements to complex addition/renovations, and new facilities.  Whether large or small, we approach each project with the same commitment to quality design and client satisfaction.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability and energy efficiency are key driving influences in the design of modern buildings. As energy costs continue to soar and the general population gains increased awareness of the environment these topics take on even more importance. We, at Bemis Associates, are very proactive in making our designs as ‘Green’ as possible given project objectives, construction budgets and other factors. Whether or not LEED certification is a project requirement, we attempt to incorporate LEED practices into our projects to the greatest extent possible.

ENERGY SAVINGS

Bemis Associates, LLC provides innovative design solutions to comply with the present Energy Code requirements. Balancing first cost with operations, replacement and maintenance costs, our designs are based on firm engineering principles and real world experience. We are able to find opportunities that stem from synergies between architectural, mechanical and electrical/lighting systems to achieve integrated building designs that effectively deliver improved energy efficiency.
